Personalization replacement decal.
THIS ITEM FITS: Diamond signs 10″ x 10″.
COLORS: Blue letters on white self adhesive vinyl decal.
Email address, Username, Chat Name, Domain Name, Gamer name, Person’s name… Whatever you want the personalization to be.
HOW TO REMOVE AND APPLY A NEW PERSONALIZATION TO YOUR SIGN:
YOU WILL NEED:
Find a clean, flat area to work. The kitchen table, a countertop… your desk.
We recommend placing a lint free towel down to protect surfaces from damage. (The sign is metal).
Get your glasses if necessary and turn the lights up bright.
You will also need a splash or two of 70% or 91% rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth or tissue, to remove any glue residue from the old personalization.
Also, a hard squeegee (credit card) will be needed to affix the new graphic to the sign.
A hair dryer is often helpful in warming the vinyl up, thus making it more pliable and easier to remove.
SO HERE WE GO!
#1. PATIENTLY… Remove old personalization decal (letters). If you have a hairdryer this can help soften the vinyl and a plastic razor blade or “lil chizler” to scrape a corner up then peel the entire letter off. This can be tedious work, stick with me. You’ll get there. 1 letter at a time !
(NOTE: Use light pressure and be cautious around other graphics or lettering on the sign. Take your time. Go slow. Be careful not to damage the actual sign.) Our signs are powder coated and very durable finish. However, some caution is advised when removing old decals. When all of the vinyl has been removed there will be some glue left behind.
#2. Clean any remaining glue with a small amount of 70% or 91% rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth. Be sure to get all the glue and all residue off before continuing to the next step………………………………………………………………………….
#3. Place a piece of scotch tape along the top of decal to keep it in place.
#4. Align new personalization within the area
(NOTE: Make sure it’s straight up and down, and also evenly spaced from side to side. Be positive of this step because you only get one shot at this. If it is crooked, it will look terrible. It is crucial to make sure it is straight top to bottom and evenly spaced side to side. I cannot stress this enough. We really want you to smile when you’re all finished and hang your sign up! Check and double check for accuracy 6 TIMES AGAIN! Press scotch tape down smoothly when it’s perfectly straight.
#5. At this point you’re almost there! – Flip the decal up and begin separating the paper backing from the transfer tape. SLOWLY peel the backing paper off, MAKE SURE ALL THE LETTERS STAY ON THE TRANSFER TAPE!!! (GO SLOW, If a letter doesn’t want to stick to the transfer tape just lay it back down and squeegee it gently and try again…) when all the paper is off… gently and slowly flip the decal back over without touching… when you are straight lay it down flat and starting frim the center of the decal squeegee down the decal and squeegee out to the end of the decal. using a credit card.
#6. SLOWLY peel transfer tape off decal. (NOTE: If letters come up when removing transfer tape just lay it back down and resquegee then peel again).
